Samhain Halloween

Motion Design / Illustration

This animated infographic for the Samhain festival was designed to educate and engage viewers through bold typography and motion. Created for large-scale screen display, it highlights three lesser-known Halloween facts: the belief that spirits could walk the earth on Samhain, the use of bonfires to ward off evil, and the origins of Trick-or-Treating in the tradition of “Guising.” Inspired by folk horror aesthetics and seasonal symbolism, I combined textured visuals with sharp transitions to evoke a sense of mystery and folklore. The result is an atmospheric, informative piece that celebrates Halloween’s ancient roots in a contemporary visual style.

This infographic was undertaken as a project at Dundalk Institute of Technology.
